When it's time for me to unwind, and more importantly, unplug, I like to do things for me - read a book, take a yoga class, buy some fresh flowers, get a mani, or just go outside and enjoy the day. It's tough to unplug, especially when you work full time in social media and then run a blog, but it's also really refreshing and freeing. So when smartwater asked me to take part of its "look up" challenge, I couldn't be more on board. Whether it's for a whole weekend, or even just ten minutes long, smartwater is asking us to take a break from tech, head outside, and look up at the world around us.



Summer just started, and on a good weather day in SF, I love laying in the park (or the beach, if it's actually warm out), and enjoying the blue sky. To help support the #lookupsweepstakes, smartwater asked me to take what I saw on my break from tech and let it inspire me in other ways. As cliche as it might sound, I love that when you look up into the sky, you'll never see the same thing twice. The clouds, the colors - it's all constantly changing, but always inspiring. Since a mani is another way I love to unwind, I let the blue sky above inspire my next set of done up digits. I used Pacifica Beauty's polish in "Fantasea" as my base color (to mimic the bright blue) and added a little bit of silver sparkle (similar to the grey undertones in the clouds) with L.A. Girl's Color Pop polish in "Explosion" and presto - sky-inspired nails!
